Is there something keeping you from God?

Every day is a brand new beginning. Opportunities to be who you want to be and do exactly what you want to do. We all have so many choices we are allowed to make. Of course thats what free will is all about! I can decide what I want for breakfast and drive and pick it up. I can decide what I want to wear today, and I was even given the choice about where I go to work. How many of us are making the choice to seek God? Do we set apart time during our day to spend time with Him? To worship Him? To read His word? To pray to Him? I see so many of you get caught up in social media that it begins to take chunks out of your time. I remember one of the last times my husband and I had a dinner in a nice restaurant and I couldn't help but notice that at the table beside us the couple also having dinner, never even spoke to one another. They both were on their cell phones the entire time. Makes my heart sad to see things like this. Technology/Social Media has helped in so many ways but it also can tear apart lives and marriages just the same. How do you think that makes God feel? He is your Father, and he desires fellowship and time with you. I'm sure it must break His heart knowing that the FB/Instagram world can seem more appealing to us than time with Him. There are certain things I can assure you of. Our God wants us to seek Him. And in order for you to be connected with God and to hear His voice and for Him to be directing your path....we must be studying His word, indulging in prayer and fellowshipping with other Christians. I find myself getting so frustrated at times when I see people complaining that they don't know what God would want or they haven't "heard from God" yet they don't invest time with Him. So I encourage each of you. Start setting apart time for Him daily. If you are in your office, put on worship music and let it flood your spirit reflecting on how good our God is. The extra time you spend on the Internet, learn to take 5-10 minutes of that and talk to Him. Let Him know where you are at and He will meet you there. Spend more time focusing on your family and less time on what everyone else is doing on FB. Learn to redirect yourself to things right in front of you that need your attention. And remember foremost....your validation for all things in life comes from God, not from what people on a social media page think!!!! God speed my friends !!!!
